Foundations for Effective Teaching I: Organizing the Classroom Environment for Teaching and Learning

Foundations of Effective Teaching is a research-based, teacher-directed process, which examines effective teaching practices. Research shows that successful teachers have high expectations for all students, and they communicate these expectations through sound educational practices. The course consists of ten sessions that include Classroom Arrangement, Beginning of the Year Classroom Management, Group Management, Time-On-Task, Direct Instruction, Cooperative Small Groups and Feedback and Praise. This innovative program uses careful observation of actual classroom practices to pinpoint effective teaching methods.

Foundations for Effective Teaching II: Delivering Effective Instruction The Federation offers both Foundations 1 and 2.
